Tournaments

The Melbourne Twilight Series has been a major part of the Victorian Tennis Calendar since 1992 and has established itself as an important part of Victorian Tennis culture. It is now the largest series of tournaments in Australia with thousands of junior and senior players involved over many years

The major aim of the Twilight Series is to set up greater matchplay opportunities for our talented players, so they can compete in nearby tournaments all year round. In 2009 the series will be run on weekends in term 2 and 3 during school term.

The Melbourne Twilight Tennis Series creates the vital link between top junior competition and the demands of professional tennis. Current highly world ranked players of the calibre of Chris Guccione, Peter Luczak,Joe Siriani, Evie Diminokovic, Jessica Moore and Lauren Breadmore have all played the Twilights. These enable our up and coming champions to play tough, quality matches locally all year round in between competing in major interstate or international events.

Each Melbourne Twilight Series tournament includes the prestigious Men's and Women's Open Singles Championship events carrying prize money as well as Graded and junior 10-18 and under singles events attracting top national fields.

Each tournament is played over one weekend on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Matches commence in junior events from 1:30pm and in Open and Graded events from 4.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays so players are still able to play in Tennis Victoria Pennant competition.

Each tournament is approved by Tennis Victoria and is run under their guidelines. Each player can view all their match times and complete draw on this web site and if requested on the entry form can receive through the post the complete draw sheet of each event entered with match times clearly displayed so as to plan your weekend.
